The best solution I have found to prevent a crash damaging your data is to
use either SFS or PFS3 and do regular backups. Personnally I use PFS3 and
copy all my data to my Jaz drive. The "backup" of my workbench partition is
a bootable Jaz cart, which has a higher boot priority, than the DH0:
partition. So as long as its kept upto date, I can just boot of the
"backup" Jaz and copy the data over to my normal boot partition with minimal
effort. However since installing PFS3 I have never had a bad disk (Touch
wood).
